Catch up with a friend over a pub meal

Last Week me and my Husband met up with a friend in a pub in South Yorkshire. It was the first time we had been to this pub and we were happy with the environment, service and food.

So for starters we had Nachos to share and the Husband had Parsley Breaded Mushrooms, which were served with a sour cream dip. As you can see we were very hungry and therefore I didn’t manage to get the pictures for these. However I did for our main meals.

For mains, the Husband had a Vegan Lasagane. This dish consisted of mushrooms, peppers, courgette and aubergine flavoured with garlic and basil. Layered with vegan pasta sheets and soy milk tomato béchamel. Topped with a herbed crumb and served with a dressed salad. The Husband enjoyed this, however felt there could have been more seasoning and flavour as these two things were missing. This dish can be seen in the top left hand corner. Our friend had a Vegetarian Pad Thai, which was rice noodles tossed in mushrooms, baby sweetcorn, water chestnut and pak choi topped with sliced red chillies. The picture for this is on the top right hand side. I had a Vegetarian Toad in the Hole, which was three vegetarian sausages on mashed potatoes, served in an oversized Yorkshire pudding with a rich onion gravy and steamed vegetables. This can be seen in the bottom left hand corner.

After our mains, we considered having desserts and of course no meal is complete without having a dessert. Therefore we ordered some desserts, the Husband had Apple Crumble with Custard, while our friend had a Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream and I had Summer Berry and Nut Tart with Ice Cream. These can be seen in the bottom right hand corner.

Overall we had a lovely evening and enjoyed our food.
